About this tool

Use SnapReelDownload to download a video from a link in your browser. The tool is free to use and no account is required. Available formats and quality depend on the original video and whether the platform allows the tool to access it.

Choose your platform

See instructions for Instagram Reels, Instagram videos, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest and Snapchat Spotlight. For YouTube videos, see the YouTube downloader, Shorts tool or MP3 converter.

Before downloading

Preview requests are limited to 10 per minute and download requests to 5 per minute. If a limit is reached, wait before trying again.

Download only content you own or have permission to save. Copyright law and platform terms may restrict downloading or reuse. A public link is not permission to copy someone else's work. See our Terms.

Check a file or diagnose an error

Already have a file? Use the local media checker to read its duration, dimensions and size without uploading it. Try the included owned sample to compare results. If no file arrived or audio is missing, start with the Help Center instead of repeatedly submitting the same request.

How to download a video from a link

Copy the individual video link

Open a video you own or have permission to save. Copy its full share link or browser address; a profile or search page may not identify a single video.

Paste the link and check the preview

Paste the URL above and select Preview video. Check that the title matches the clip you intended before choosing a format.

Download and check the file

Choose Download Video, Best Available Quality or Download MP3. Check your browser's Downloads list for completion, then open the saved file to verify picture and sound.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I download a video from any website link?
The tool needs a supported link to an individual video. A profile, search result or playlist may not identify a usable source. Private, expired or restricted links can fail even when they open in your signed-in browser. Use the platform-specific instructions linked above.
Can I save a video link as MP4 or MP3?
Choose Download Video or Best Available Quality for video output, or Download MP3 for audio. MP4 availability depends on the retrievable source and any required processing. MP3 conversion needs an accessible audio track; changing a filename extension does not convert a file.
Do I need an account?
No. Paste a supported public video link to use the tool without registering.
Why does a download fail?
The link may be private, expired, restricted or unsupported. Check that it opens publicly, copy the full link again, and see the relevant platform guide. Temporary platform or service errors can also cause failures.
Can every video be downloaded in HD or without a watermark?
No. Resolution, audio and any existing overlays depend on the file available from the source. A higher-quality option cannot restore detail missing from the original video.
Where is my downloaded file?
Check your browser's Downloads list or your device's Downloads folder. On a phone, you may need to save or move the file to Photos or Gallery separately.
Are downloads anonymous?
Do not assume that requests are anonymous. Review our Privacy Policy and the source platform's policies for information about data handling.

Guides for this task

Use permitted sources only. Public visibility does not establish permission to save or reuse a file. We are not affiliated with the source platforms. Some processing uses temporary server files; see our Privacy Policy. See the YouTube tool for supported links, availability limits and official export options.
